5 Problems with Social Media

I have come across people whose eyes are glued to a screen of some sort or they're fingers are typing or texting.  My problem is they're not there at all.  You try to get they're attention, they don't answer.  They talk and act like a robot not knowing how to interact with the human kind.  Plus, cyberspace has there own form of bullying that could cause and depressions and worse  WHY?  Hello out there!  Do you here me?
Well, here are my 5 problems with social media:
1.  The first problem is numbers, the need (more so than want) to have more contacts aka followers.  The more followers the more you feel important.  When the number falls you feel like a failure and an outcast.

2  The inability/fear of being yourself.  You feel like you have to create this fictional character to gain attention and to be more alluring to followers.  You are afraid to be yourself fear of being made fun of/shot down and fear of losing followers.

3.  When you are real and you put your thoughts, feelings and emotions out there for all to see people  will only see the words not the meaning behind the words.  They will attack and even bully you.  This is especially bad for teens and older children.

4.  Social media can be known as a "frenemy".  It's good to keep up with what is going on with people far away but it can make you distant with those who are in the same room as you.

5.  Also, social media is a place where negativity tends to breed more negativity.  Where people complain about their lives or someone else's life and bad news in the news is also broadcasted.  This can be pretty depressing that you can't seem to tear yourself from the screen. bad news can be contagious.

So there you have it.  The 5 reasons why I find social media a bad influence.  I mean why can't you just go back to the frickin' 1950's way to communicate with you're friends and family?!?  I mean if you look up to people who are "perfect" what does that do to your self confidence?  I feel that the less media the better because there's no need to change who you are.  You can stay true to who you are.
